UNSPOKEN SERMONS
SERIES ONE, TWO & THREE
By George MacDonald
One of the most prolific and celebrated Scottish fantasy writers and novelists of the Victorian era -- George
MacDonald (1824 - 1905) was an internationally renowned speaker and author of faerie stories for  adults and
children.  He counted Mark Twain, Lewis Caroll, Ralph Waldo Emerson and John Greenleaf Whittier
among his friends and admirers.

Among his writings are Phantastes, At the Back of the North Wind, Sir Gibbie, The Princess and the Goblin,
Lilith, and The Light Princess.  He has been a major influence on writers of the 20th century, including G. K.
Chesterton, W. H. Auden, Madeleine L'Engle and more.  He directly influenced C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of
Narnia, which includes The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and J. R. R. Tolkien's
The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

"I know hardly any other writer who seems to be closer, or more continuously close
to the spirit of Christ himself."
~ C. S. Lewis ~

A wonderful series of insightful, thought- and spirit-provoking sermons, written over a period of twenty-five
years, UNSPOKEN SERMONS shows the breadth and depth of George MacDonald’s developing vision of the
Love of God as incarnated in the person of Jesus Christ.  Never one to shy away from a difficulty, MacDonald
explores some of the most challenging and perplexing passages in the Gospels, each time rising to newer
heights in his elucidation of the mysteries of God’s Love.

This edition includes Series 1, 2 & 3 of MacDonald's Unspoken Sermons
